Apple has an early holiday good news with the outstanding sales figure of its iPhone XR. Released late last month, iPhone XR has been outselling both iPhone XS and XS Max models.
Apple’s VP of product marketing, Greg Joswiak, told CNET in an interview this week that iPhone XR has been the company’s “most popular iPhone each and every day since it became available.”
While iPhone XS sells for $999 and XS Max is priced at $1,099, the iPhone XR has a more appealing price tag of $749. Despite being cheaper, XR packs in many of the cool features found in the more expensive models.
- Big 6.1″ Liquid Retina multi-Touch display with IPS technology
- Durable glass and Aerospace-grade aluminum bands, both water and dust resistant
- Wireless charging
- Advanced Face ID
- Intelligent A12 Bionic chip with next-generation Neural Engine
- 12MP f/1.8, wide-angle rear camera, 7MP ƒ/2.2 front camera
- 4K video recording at 24 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps
- IOS 12
There were reports about iPhone XR not doing good on sales. The fourth quarter sales results earlier this month casted a rather grim picture on the sale of all three 2018 iPhone models.
Mixed Reports on iPhone Sales
Just last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that the company has cut production orders in recent weeks for iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max.
Indeed, Apple’s stock has plummeted 20 percent since the third quarter earnings report.
Amid the new sales figure, Joswiak did not comment on TWJ report about the uncertainty around the iPhone demand. However, he pointed out that the iPhone XR “has been the most popular and best-selling” iPhone since it was launched.
The company’s share has bounched back 2.9 percent on Wednesday, and is expected to rise further.
Apple is promoting the World AIDS day by donating $1 out of every Apple Pay purchase made at an Apple Store, Apple.com, or through the Apple Store app from December 1st until Dec. 7th. The company is planning on turning its 125 Apple Store logos red in honor of the day. iPhone XR is also available in red.
