We have a new PlayStation 4 update for you. This time, we’re talking about a free game that doesn’t even require a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Fans are getting some free new games in January that won’t require the subscription. One of such is the much anticipated Jump Force. If you have (or haven’t) joined the Dragon Ball Fighter Z hype train, this one might be even better.

Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Fighter Z is not only one of the best-selling Dragon Ball games ever, but it’s also the best made and one of the best fighting games of the generation. It appeals to hardcore and light fans alike. So, keep in mind the company’s reputation, and follow me through its next release.

Jump Force as the ultimate anime arcade?

Bandai Namco Jump Force is an upcoming anime mash-up arcade. It pits the most famous names in anime against each other.

For the first time, iconic Manga heroes will measure against each other on the same battleground. Think Bleach’s Ichigo Vs. Uzumaki Naruto; Gohan Vs. One Piece’s Luffy; Ruruoni Kenshin Vs. Yu-Gi-Oh. Possibilities are endless.

Even newcomer Midoriya, from the favorite Boku No Hero Academia anime, will feature amongst the available characters.

Jump Force takes advantage of the latest technologies to bring characters we’ve never seen before in video games. Designs are realistic, the movement is smooth, and action is exhilarating.

The title celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Weekly Shōnen Jump Magazine, the world’s most popular manga source. The game will be available for PS$, Xbox One, and PC as of February 15. There’s also support for Xbox One X Enhanced and PS4 Pro.

When can I get Jump Force for free?

Before Bandai Namco officially releases Jump Force on all platforms, the company is offering beta gameplay.

The company is hosting a new open beta weekend in January that includes some top stages and characters.

The open beta is available for a limited time. The developer will use it to test servers and matchmaking systems.

Characters available will change over time, but you will find top names as Goku, Luffy, and Naruto. Overall, you would have 17 playable characters during the test.

If you’re curious, characters include Kenshin, Vegeta, Luffy, Blackbeard, Freeza, Younger Toguro, Gon, Hisoka, Sasuke, Goku, Pegasus Seiya, Roronoa Zoro, Ichigo, Yusuke, Kenshiro, Rukia, and Naruto.

If you know all of these fighters, congrats, you’re a true anime consumer. I know I don’t, but I still love Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood above all things.

Jump Force’s open beta will run from January 18 to January 20.

Here’s the full schedule of Jump Force January open beta:

  • January 18 – 13:00 CET to 16:00 CET
  • January 19 – 06:00 CET to 09:00 CET & 17:00 CET to 20:00 CET
  • January 20 – 21:00 CET to 00:00 CET

Furthermore, there are five stages of testing out: Hong Kong, Namek, New York, Matterhorn, and Mexico.

How to get Jump Force for free?

Because it’s an open beta test, players won’t need to pre-order the game, sign-up for unique codes, or have any subscription.

The test version is available to everyone on the online stores. Players will be able to download the client for either PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or directly through their webpage.

All you have to do is be ready for the brawl. By the way, who would you choose out of all these characters? Me, I’d go for Gon Freecs.
