While the JBL Flip 4 offers excellent sound and good battery life, to some it looks too much like a literal trash can. It’s looks and waterproof nature make the Flip 4 a good speaker for outdoor use and pool parties, but some people are looking for the one to use in their home that looks nice. Ultimate Ears Wonderboom – Floating with 360 Degree Sound
The last one we’re going to take a look at is the Wonderboom from Ultimate Ears. Ultimate Ears is a brand well known for their durable speakers, and this is no exception to that trend. Like many of the other Bluetooth speakers we looked at on our list, this one comes with an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it is waterproof enough for everyday use.
The Wonderboom is also shockproof up to 5 feet, meaning small drop are nothing to worry about for this tough little guy. To make you feel even more comfortable around water with this, Ultimate Ears designed it to float. If your speaker sinks to the bottom of a lake, it doesn’t matter how waterproof it is, you’re never getting it back.
Aside from the floating and durability features, the Wonderboom has decent sound. The bass is very punchy, and comes through a bit strong at times. The mids and highs can be a bit muddy sounding, but are still clear overall.
The cylindrical design of this allows it to project sound in all directions, which is nice at pool or beach parties. If you want a nice durable speaker with decent sound, this is a good choice.

- 10-hour battery life
- Mids and highs can be muddy sounding
