I”ve had my Samsung Rugby since 2011 I think! LOL Great little phone! Yes, smartphones are addictive and I can’t say how many people I see everyday staring down at their phones while walking, sitting, even driving! Staring at a computer all day has affected my eyesight and I sure am in now hurry to upgrade to a more sophisticated phone. I think the GPS feature would be really cool to have but not at the expense of worse eyesight!
A friend of mine still has a flip phone and hers is even older than mine!
My sister has one too, for simplicity sake. We both just need a phone to make and take calls and the occasional picture.
Recently here in Ontario, Canada, authorities added the alerts when a child goes missing to not just being broadcast on the radio and television but to every smartphone! Some people are getting so angry about their phones going off in the middle of the night, they actually call 9-1-1 to complain! I mean, this is a missing child! Perhaps an abducted, in danger child! How heartless can you be! I don’t think they are going to stop it, but are actually going to charge people a fine I think if they call and complain! LOL Good for them! Hit the naysayers in their wallets!
Thanks for your response Janet. What’s being done in Ontario should be copied and replicated here in the US. Smartphones are now a way of life for many people and this is quite worrying.
