How to buy the best silent keyboard
There are a few things you must know before seeking out a silent keyboard. Because many keyboards that claim to be silent still turn out to be clicks and clacky.
Here’s a list of things to check out before buying a silent keyboard:
Wired or wireless
There isn’t much difference between the two, you just need to have your preferences. Check carefully whether the keyboard you’re buying is wireless or wired.
A wireless keyboard is sleek because you won’t have to worry about cable management. Most wireless keyboards require a pair of rechargeable AAA batteries which you only need to change once a year.
A wired keyboard, however, is sometimes less of a hassle – you don’t need to worry about a USB receiver getting lost, defective or not connecting properly. With a wired keyboard, you won’t have to worry about the eventual loss of responsiveness – especially if you’re a gamer.
Like I said earlier, it’s all up to you to make a choice.
This is a very important determinant for any external keyboard you’re buying. If you buy a keyboard that isn’t compatible with your operating system, you may end up having to return it or losing your money altogether.
We took the liberty of telling you the operating system compatibility of each keyboard we reviewed- you can see them in the table above.
Some keyboards that claim to be compatible with multiple operating systems still have a few shortcut keys that are will not work on alien an OS.
Lighting and effects
Some keyboards have good lighting combination and some even allow you to customize these lights. They’re cool and are mostly found on mechanical keyboards.
But if you don’t want to light under your keys or you feel it disturbs your eye, you can buy something else. Or confirm if the lights are customizable so you can put them off altogether.
Keyboard size matter for some people. For those who do a lot of moving with their computer, you need a smaller sized keyboard, not something full-sized. Gamers are advised to get a full-sized keyboard with a good keyboard profile and programmable advanced keys.
You may not know the importance of a silence keyboard until you buy one. Beyond functioning in near silence, the ones we reviewed are super fast and give you optimum comfort.
Remember, your choices are what truly matter when choosing a silent
