Nintendo Switch fans know some fantastic games are coming their way, pretty soon. Ahead of the rumored Direct conference, we already have some exciting news: the next Legend of Zelda game is a thing.

Nintendo confirmed the next installment of the franchise following the adventures of Link in Hyrule.

Nintendo is already hiring more staff for the upcoming Zelda project. Such a plot twist would only serve to the revolting 2019’s video-game console trend: Nintendo Switch is selling more units than the PS4 and the Xbox One. More so, it will probably continue as the best-selling video game console of 2019.

A new Legend of Zelda

Nintendo posted a new Legend of Zelda job advert on their side. As production is ramping up, it looks like its going to be a Breath of the Wild sequel. There’s also the possibility the game will feature a brand new story, as Zelda games often do.

The job advert of the Japanese video game developer is asking for a 3D terrain designer. If you’re looking to build a Zelda game, take a look here!

Note: the position goes for people already living in Japan and who can speak Japanese.

A previous advert, also for the video-game development team, was calling someone with experience in creating consumer games. It suggests the upcoming release will go for consoles and not for Nintendo 3DS.

As the game might be a Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel, let’s remember this incredible game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Breath of the Wild is, hands-on, 2017’s game of the year, so good it disputes the Zelda throne room with the likes of Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and Twilight Princess.

What’s more to say about this beautiful game? The latest Zelda title came out in a year of hugely acclaimed games, and it can still stand on top all of them.

Do you remember that year? We got Resident Evil 7, Injustice 2, Nier Automata, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Super Mario Odyssey, Fortnite, Player Unknown Battlegrounds, Prey, Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, and many more.

Breath of the Wild is a game to love. Its artistic style, subtle movements, and the excellent plot will give any player an invaluable experience.

The game features an open-world design that grants so much freedom players can even cook their meals and eat.

The title simultaneously revamped the series and turned the open-world genre on its head. The result is sublime, almost wild.

Meanwhile, the design is simple. Instead of going for super-realistic graphics, Nintendo went for a completely different route. And they did a great job: Nintendo created an expansive world where everything is truly connected, alive. It’s like so because the word is unstructured, messy, designed to be experienced by the players.

Many game portals consider Breath of the Wild as one of the best games ever. To date, it has sold over 11 million copies, which means it’s the best-sold game of the franchise.

The game takes place at the end of the Zelda timeline, in Hyrule. Hyrule was sent to a medieval state 10,000 years after Link sealed Ganon with the Master Sword. When Ganon finally returns, Link must defeat him once again before he breaks free from Hyrule castle.

  1. Zelda botw was one of the best zelda games ever the map was amazing not to mention the mechanics, but if the next game comes out with the exact same map it will feel like we are playing the same game and that will make it boring in no time. What we like is to explore new areas something we havent seen. Also better graphics such as twilight princess would make it even better wich also had more of a story to it than botw wich was mainly worked on its map rather than a story keep it somewhat traditional storywise. Thank you

    • I feel the same as you, although I would prefer a BOTW sequel with a better plot.

Personally, my favorite Zelda game is Twilight Princess. The experience of riding a horse and shooting arrows with Wii’s point and shoot mechanics was amazing!
