Netflix users have been complaining about the annoying auto playing feature for a while now. Finally, the company announces that subscribers can disable the autoplay function and watch series/movies without any hassle. Similarly, Netflix also lets you turn off the preview for the selected show or movie, and it automatically starts playing. Using Netflix was never this enjoyable!
Netflix made this critical decision through twitter while responding to a user’s complaint. Netflix stated on twitter that they are well aware of the feedback, and members now can control whether or not they see autoplay previews. There were a lot of complaints on YouTube, Reddit threads, and tweets from the cross customers as well. One customer was so furious that he dedicated an entire Twitter account to make Netflix disable this annoying function. And finally, this no so appealing feature of an otherwise fantastic streaming platform came to a halt. Browsing the homepage isn’t a problem anymore, so check out the updated help page on its website to disable the feature.
Here’s what Netflix twitted:
How do we disable the preview autoplay option on Netflix:
You can easily disable this option in these short steps:
- Sign in to Netflix.
- Select “Manage Profiles” from the menu (if you are logged in, you can find this option under the dropdown menu with your profile picture).
- Select the profile you would like the disable the feature on.
- Uncheck the box “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices.
Thus, after disabling the feature, it will be updated on your phone, tablet, television, or any other devices where you stream Netflix.
Also, if you want to remove the autoplay of the next episode of a series, access the same profile and menu while unchecking the option “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices.”
