Samsung takes the TV industry to a whole new level with its 8K QLED TV and Sero, the rotating TV!

CES 2020 blew our minds with the latest technology. Most of the products were impressive, while some seemed to be too ‘smart’ for nothing. But Samsung turned the tables (and our TVs!) with its two latest television models. These TVs are what dreams are made of. Yes, that’s not even a tad bit exaggerated. If our budget allows, we can’t wait to get our hands on Samsung’s QLED 8K TV (Q950) and the Sero!

Samsung Q950— 8K QLED TV

This TV not just looks amazing, its features are pretty mind-blowing too.

Appearance

First, let’s talk about what meets the eye — the top-notch design. This TV has nearly invisible bezels, which allow incredible viewing experience. It has a 99:1 screen to body ratio, so now you can imagine how immersive watching a movie on this TV can get. The Samsung Q950 has speakers on the sides, subwoofers at the back, which adds on to making the screen rimless. With a stainless steel body and a thickness of 15 mm, this eye-catching TV looks like a piece of art.

Picture Quality

As if the bezel-less design didn’t assure the best viewing experience already, the Samsung Q950 provides 8K resolution. This implies that you’ll be watching content with 33 million pixels per frame, i.e., four times the clarity provided by 4K resolution.

But here’s the best part— the 8K AI Upscaling feature! This allows you to restore lower quality videos to 8K resolution. Moreover, its multi-view feature lets you watch multiple screens/ content simultaneously (for eg, your TV and your phone screen).

Sound Quality

This hi-tech TV provides immersive audio features as well. The Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) feature increases the volume of dialogues and lowers the background noise. Another audio feature, the Object Tracking Sound+ senses the motion in scenes and provides a 3D sound experience.

Lastly, the Samsung Q950 8K QLED TV supports multiple sound assistants like Bixby, Alexa, Google Assistant, to provide you with advanced, hands-free control. The voice assistants can even switch to your favourite show without you having to lift a finger!

The Sero

This one-of-a-kind TV rotates from a horizontal view to a vertical one, according to your phone’s display. This technology is especially targetted towards the gen z who prefer creating content on their phones instead of professional cameras. Also, with 40% of the content online being available in portrait mode, thanks to Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat, etc., this rotating TV is an intelligent invention. Plus, the Sero also acts as a digital photo frame, calendar, etc. so it’s a win-win investment!

Appearance

Since the gen z is always on the go, most of the content (especially videos) online is in portrait mode. While it’s perfect to check them out on your phone or tablet, sometimes we need to view such stuff on a bigger, better screen. That’s when this 43-inch TV steps in. It’s stylish; it’s practical — I can’t wait for its launch in the US!

Phone-to-TV Connectivity

The process of connecting your phone to the Sero is wireless and seamless. All you need to do is tap your phone to the side of the screen and voila… now, your TV mirrors your phone! This ‘tap-view’ feature supports both Android and iOS devices. Surprisingly, the QLED 4K resolution enables you to get crystal clear clarity, so your phone’s display is not going to look super-stretched or pixelated on TV. Moreover, the quick response time adds on to the smooth experience.

Conclusion

Samsung has really stepped up its game with its 8K QLED TV and Sero, the rotating TV. Although the Sero is only available in Korea as of now, we are sure it’s going to sell like hotcakes once it’s launched all over. Overall, Samsung’s latest TVs may not be a necessity in every household, but both introduce impressive, forward-thinking technologies.
