Apple is hosting its next event on Oct 30. The tech giant has reportedly sent out invites for the event set to take place in Brooklyn, New York. It is rumored that Apple will announce new iPads and Macs during the event.
Upgraded iPad Pro
According to rumors, the new iPad pro will see some major redesigning as well as added features. They will have larger displays and Apple’s Face ID facial-recognition tech will replace the old Touch ID fingerprint sensing home button. Apple Pencils, which are an integral part of the iPad pro experience, could also see some major updating. The new iPad pro could also feature USB-C connectivity in favor of Apple’s own lightning connectivity.
Upgraded MacBook Air
Apple could also announce an update to the current $999 MacBook Air. The new laptop could feature a higher resolution retina display with thinner bezels around the screen and faster processors.
Apple could also announce a new Mac Mini, aimed at Power users and app developers. Besides that, Apple could also reveal details about iOS 12.1, an update that will allow for Group FaceTime and dual-SIM support. The company could also provide details to the watchOS update, which will enable the Apple Watch Series 4’s EKG functionality. Apple could even tease the new Mac Pro or the long awaited AirPower charger. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Apple became the United State’s first trillion dollar company in August, but much of its profits (almost two thirds) are derived from the iPhone. iPads and Macs aren’t its most profitable devices. In recent years, the two devices have produced less than 10 percent of the company’s total revenue and Apple has been struggling to improve these figures.
This will be Apple’s second event in two months. The company had held an event in September when it revealed the new iPhone XS, XS max and XR phones and an updated slimmer design of Apple Watch. The event took place at the Steve Jobs Theater (named after Apple’s legendary founder) at the company’s new campus in Cupertino, California.
